HK Design Week
Fundació Enric Miralles’ contribution to the Hong Kong Design Week brought together a selection of large-scale international projects that present innovative ideas around urban regeneration, through models, drawings, sketches, and prototypes.
The highlights of the selection, chosen together with the Miralles Tagliabue EMBT studio included the renovation of the Santa Caterina market in Barcelona, the Copagri pavilion “Love IT” for Expo Milan 2015, and the Spanish Pavilion of Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China. The exhibition formed a part of the Business of Design Week (BODW) 2015 in Hong Kong, an international event in the design and innovation sector that attracts over 100,000 participants every year, and more than 70 international speakers alongside 200 media representatives.
Fundació Enric Miralles’ exhibition surrounding urban regeneration sought to exemplify the social and financial value of working with the city´s existing material conditions and social spaces. Providing space for the continued celebration of cultural heritage while endeavouring to adopt a sustainable and circular approach to urban design, in a time of increasingly rapid and volatile urban change.
