Tropical Table

The Tropical Table is part of the furniture that Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue built for their own home. The original one from 1994 uses the leftover wood pieces from the pergola project on Avinguda Icària in Barcelona. Tropical is a table that changes into two heights: one of 70cm to be used as a dining or working table, and the other of 35cm to be used as a coffee table. Enric and Benedetta liked the idea that all furniture should always be moving according to the day's mood. They would think of their furniture as their pets.
