The project, inserted into the landscape of the univeristy’s existing campus reimagined the configuration of institute’s entrance, the transformation of the sports arena, the urbanization of a new commercial zone, and the introduction of a parking complex.
Lungo Mare was first conceived in 1997 during a conversation between Enric Miralles, Benedetta Tagliabue, and Emili Farré Escofet. “We wanted Lungo Mare to be as inviting as the beach and as comfortable as a dune or the waves on the sea… we wanted to make a soft piece of concrete”.
