Enric Miralles Foundation is making a renewed intervention in an unfinished and deteriorated housing project , which consisted of a resort and Thalassotherapy center .
The new project, promoted by the Dzogchen Community, located in the municipality of Adeje in the island of Tenerife, Spain, involves the rehabilitation and reuse of the old complex making it a new center of Tibetan Medicine .
It´s a building made to fulfill the Community´s needs, both therapeutic and cultural ones. It includes thirteen apartment modules that will serve as housing as well.
During construction, there will be held several educational, social and cultural activities promoted by the Dzogchen Community itself and the Campus of Experimentation of the Foundation Enric Miralles. Located in Adeje, a stunning natural environment, with a variety of micro – climates and ecological diversity , the experimental campus of the Foundation is the place to explore architecture. Through an interdisciplinary work, the campus offers a direct learning method and full contact with the environment by applying the tools and knowledge of local tradition in the use of natural materials in order to perform full-scale sustainable structures .
