El Diseño. Un viaje entre Italia y España

June 12 -20, 2019

The General Consultate of Italy in Barcelona presents “El Diseño. Un viaje entre Italia y España” hosted at the Fundació Enric Miralles in occasion of the Barcelona Design Week 2019. The expo at hand collects the works of eleven young (under 35) artists and students from Italy and Spain.

This exhibition is the result of a competition convened by italian Embassy in Madrid as part of the project ITmakES. The first edition was set up for Interni’s event “Human Spaces” in Università degli Studi di Milano during the Fuorisalone 2019, and recently for the Festa della Repubblica Italiana in Madrid.

The installation, designed by the architect Davide Valoppi from Noarc Studio, takes inspiration from a journey between Spain and Italy and the affinity between the two countries. The white structures supports huge red globos, that intend to recall the romantic baloon trips; the color choice isn’t casual as well: red is shared by both the italian and spanish flag. The smaller steel structures have a wooden platform on which are displayed sketches and images of the eight projects that have received a special mention.

The three competition’s winners are:

Buffet Capa / Manuel García Fraile

Loop Kitchen /Jesús López de los Mozos

Ness / Cristina Castillo y Patricia Lallana.
