The Mollet del Vallès park, with the Civic Center and the Ludoteca, occupies a space of approximately 10,000 square meters and it rises up in an area that was originally marginal. Without any identity, simply delimited by the buildings that surrounded it. Due to the land was free of constructions, it was possible to work with the topography, obtaining different areas with different functions: the playground, the promenades, the breaks, the green.
The main themes of the project derive from the place: since the buildings in the neighborhood were covered by spontaneously emerging wall decorations, in the same way, this theme is re-proposed in the park through panels suspended on pillars. The signs on these panels are structured like true three-dimensional graffiti and the shadows, along with those of the surrounding buildings, locate areas with different functions in the park.
The Ludoteca is a semicircular volume that can be subdivided by mobile walls; It is generated in three-tiered levels so that the three different play areas it contains can communicate with each other. Access from the outside is a very important part of the Civic Center project since the building is developed around the entrance level. The shadow of the buildings and the succession of the pillars, the vegetation, arranged in thick masses of trees, the open-air theater, formed by the stands of the bocce court, are all the elements that help to define the different areas of the Park.
