On June 3rd, 2021, the online conferences cycle of MIRALLES. Converses started. Converses is part of the MIRALLES events, promoted by the Fundació Enric Miralles with the support of the Barcelona City Council and the Generalitat of Catalunya, in order to pay tribute to the figure of the Catalan architect Enric Miralles in his many facets as a creator, and the death of the which was 20 years old in 2020.
The architects Rafael Moneo and Benedetta Tagliabue participated in this first session, which had placed on Thursday, June 3 at 5:30 p.m. in an online format at Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC).
Rafael Moneo, studied at the Madrid School of Architecture (1961) and obtained the chair of Composition Elements both at ESTAB (1970) and Madrid (1980). He was Enric Miralles’ doctoral professor at the ETSAB and a member of the jury for his doctoral thesis. He is currently Josep Lluis Sert Emeritus Professor of Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. An internationally renowned architect with projects such as the expansion of the Prado Museum, the Los Angeles Cathedral, the Kursaal de San Sebastián or the Museum of Roman Art in Mérida, Rafael Moneo’s activity also develops as a lecturer and critic in numerous professional magazines, as Arquitecturas Bis of which he is a co-founder.
