BCN RE.SET: Ephemeral architecture circuit in  the street

April-september de 2014

The architect Benedetta Tagliabue ( EMBT / Enric Miralles Foundation ) and the stage manager Alex Ollé (La Fura dels Baus ) conducted in 2014 an important intervention in the city. Within the commemoration of Tricentenari BCN , some of the most iconic public spaces Barcelona changed their look with a set of seven artistic and architectural installations that proposed a reflection on concepts such as identity, freedom and democracy.

The first installation was shown in April 2014 at the Parc de la Ciutadella. Inspired by the old wall of Barcelona and its subsequent destruction symbolized the recovery of the city by its citizens. The idea of reconstruction and destruction of the wall or walls of the world, gave way to the creation of six ephemeral installations designed by six international architects in collaboration with leading schools of architecture and design in Barcelona in Dels Angels square, the square Salvador Segui, the Place de la Mercè , the Nova square , Plaza del Mar and Arc de Triomf. For the first time , all schools of architecture in the city , which some schools of design and the Institut del Teatre joined , worked together on a project , an educational , architectural and artistic initiative of great symbolic value for enjoyment worldwide .
